ACEO Dingy

"Dingy" This one was done as a request from a new friend. I did 2 and she chose the other one. I can't post it because it's a surprise!
ACEO From the Garden

"From the Garden" To me it looks like something someone would pluck from a small garden. Maybe the first blooms of the year. I'm still playing with learning how to achieve muted color. I used a light blue wash over this in it's entirety. I think it came out well.

"Red and Yella" I love the way the colors turned out in the vase. I'm trying more and more to learn about color and the best way to apply it in an acrylic medium and I'm very happy with the vase in particular.

"Fallen Petals" I don't know why but the petals that fell from this arrangement became more important than the arrangement itself. The cycle of life maybe?

A Test of Color
I bought Vicki McMurry’s book Mastering Color and I tried to emulate the colors that are on the jacket cover before reading the book. The painting is sort of a test to see how I improve after reading the book. I love her colors and I love her style. I should only hope to one day be half as good.
She paints in oils which I think is an advantage and mine is in acrylic but…we’ll see.
